Formation & Mission House
We have a house of prayer, formation and mission in the parish of St Joseph's which young adults are able to join for one year or more. Living a community life offers a young adult a space in which to be more fully formed in their faith, to enter deeper into prayer, and to discern Christ's call, as well as providing many dynamic opportunities for mission and service.
Members of the house receive formation in the Benedictine tradition, the Catholic faith and vocation, and have opportunities for retreat and spiritual accompaniment. They seek part-time work in the local area (and/or alternative forms of funding) in order to cover the expenses of living simply in community.
They are then also available to work part-time with The Wellspring Community in projects such as community building with young adults in the local Church, and potentially a wide range of other works depending on the person's interests and skills, e.g. youth work and children's work, Sacramental programmes, homeless shelter volunteering, adult formation, music ministry, talk-giving, retreats work, conference/seminar/study days, outreach events, cooking and hospitality.
If you would be interested in exploring the possibility of living in our Formation House, do get in touch. After some initial contact, enquirers may make a visit to experience life in the house and find out more about The Wellspring Community.
